Educational Photos

Attached are three photos I have found online that I think relate to education and children. One is a map of all the states so kids can easily locate them and see where they are in relation to each other. The next image is of a kitchen conversion chart. This is useful and also fun for kids (and adults) when learning measurements. The last image is a silly cartoon :) I found these images simply by going onto google and searching for different types of educational images I thought could be relevant of fun.

Webquest Assignment

For the webquest I put together, the theme was youth violence. I wanted to design a project that shows statistics of the growing rate of youth violence as well as make a group project that would foster cooperative learning and collaboration among my students. For this webquest they were supposed to come up with a prevention plan to help this cause.

Scavenger Hunt Collection

The twenty photos I decided to use for this assignment all came from the San Francisco Historical Photograph Collection, which was a part of the San Francisco Public Library Website. This archive contains around 38,000 digitized images which can be viewed either online in the database, or in person at the photo desk. The photographs are of San Francisco and California ranging from the 1850's to present day. This collection includes scenes from streets, buildings and neighborhoods. This particular photo archive consists mostly of the photo morgue of the San Francisco News-Call Bulletin, which was a daily newspaper ranging from 1920's to 1965.

Hello Everybody!

Hi, my name is Jessica and I am a junior here at the University of Oregon. I am studying Elementary Education as my major and plan to have a Special Education minor by the time I graduate. I am from San Rafael, California which is about ten miles North of the Golden Gate Bridge. Some of my favorite things to do are reading, cooking/baking, drive to the beach, outdoor sports, watching movies, going out to coffee with friends, and spending time with my family. I miss them very much I can't wait for the holidays so I can see them all!

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving break I am planning on getting together with family and old friends to catch up after several months of being absent. I am very much looking forward to a week of relaxing and hopefully being able to leave homework behind in Eugene!:)
